Tsunami Survey

The aim of this survey is to collect eye-witness reports from persons who were in the Khao Lak area on December 26, 2004. This study is a continuation of a workshop which was held in Stockholm in May 2007. This workshop involved the participation of 22 eye-witnesses from Sweden and has shown that eye-witness data can provide important data which can be used to test computer models of tsunami impact. This is essential if such models are to provide reliable information for the purpose of disaster mitigation. If you are willing to help, please answer as many of the following questions which you can based on your own experience. The above map was produced and is copyrighted by Axel von Matern. It is available for PDF download at http://www.khaolak2004.com/.
